Just a quick update- the pictures have all been taken. No they have not all been edited yet, but they are living happily on the hard drive :) Because it is a snapshot of our lives, my plan it is to make (belated) Xmas books for the kids with them. So yes, my plan is to finish and I haven't missed a day yet, but posting has been um, let's just say lower on priority scale, lol. Dude- I haven't slept in more than two hour (yes, that's the MAX) increments in over a year, cut me some slack :)

Alarm Clocks

I was looking at the clock the morning, to see what time my day would begin as the baby crawled all over my face giggling and I realized- why do we have an alarm clock? It hasn't been set since November, when we needed to leave for at the airport around 4am. Not that we weren't up until midnight and then woken up at 1am, 2:30am, 3:15am...mind you. We definitely didn't need it. But yeah, we never use an alarm clock. In college I LIVED by my alarm clock. And the snooze button. To get to work, to get to class (even for afternoon classed I needed it)- and I still missed many a lecture because apparently there is a limit on the snooze button before it just gives up on you. I think its 10 times, or an hour of snooze. My poor roommates. Oh, how times have changed...

Just talking out loud...

Scott always cracked up when an old co-worker of his would say, "I'm just talking out loud here..." during meetings, so yeah- we say that now :)

Anyway, first I have to admit that at this very moment (11.:21pm) I'm up way to late knitting and sewing and, wait for it,...watching a re-run of Real Housewives of NYC. Wowza. That's a whole other post but here's my food for thought for the night-

One of the characters was just discussing getting ultrasound treatments in her armpits to stop sweating problems. I don't know exactly what the ultrasound treatment is doing to stop her sweat glands from producing sweat or what exactly is going on there. Again, a whole other post on that.

All I keep thinking is that we use the same technology used to stop sweat glands from producing (amongst other things) routinely on almost all babies in America. At least once in every pregnancy. Just to make sure. Not because we have cause for concern, but rather to catch anything we should have been concerned about (but didn't notice in our thirteen second appointments) or possibly could be concerned about- just to add stress to the pregnancy without any additional guidance. Or, just to see if there are boy or girl parts floating around in there.

I'm getting another glass of wine.

Amazing

I know I'm way behind on pictures. They'll be up in the next few days, I promise :)

On another note, I finally got some of the stories I grew up hearing first hand this past weekend. So amazing.

In a nutshell, my great uncle was born a preemie twin. Both of them combined weighed no more than 5 lbs. The nurses used to carry him around in their pocket (what?!). In 1928. He married another preemie twin, born in a field in Cuba in 1930. Together they had eight healthy, amazing children, and my aunt's twin and his wife had 9. (My uncle's twin died shortly after birth.) Two sets of preemie twins born during the depression leave a legacy of 17 children and three of them are still alive at 79, 79, and 81. Amazing.
